Embarking on stops 80 and 81 of our skatepark exploration, we ventured into the Barreiro region of Portugal, uncovering two distinctive skate spots: the bowl in Alto do Seixalinho and the miniramp in Barreiro.
Located in the Zona 4 area of Alto do Seixalinho, this skate pool is a testament to community-driven projects. Developed by the Gasoline Association as part of the "Comunidades em Ação" program, the pool was inaugurated recently, adding a fresh spot for skaters in the region. The construction was undertaken by Wasteland Skateparks, known for their quality craftsmanship in skatepark design. The bowl features handcrafted pool coping, offering a classic skate experience reminiscent of traditional American pools. Its design caters to both seasoned skaters seeking challenging lines and newcomers looking to hone their skills in a community-centric environment.
Situated adjacent to the Municipal Swimming Pool of Barreiro, the Rampa Gasoline is a wooden miniramp that has become a local favorite. Also known as the Barreiro miniramp, the miniramp's location offers convenience for skaters, with nearby amenities enhancing the overall experience.
Beyond the skateparks, Barreiro itself is a city rich in culture and history. Exploring its streets, we encountered vibrant murals, historic architecture, and a welcoming community. The city's blend of urban and natural landscapes provides a picturesque backdrop for skate sessions and leisurely strolls alike. Our journey through Alto do Seixalinho and Barreiro not only added two unique skateparks to our list but also introduced us to the charm of this Portuguese region. For skaters and travelers alike, Barreiro offers a blend of engaging skate spots and cultural experiences worth exploring.
