Santo André is one of those places that just feels like it was built for skating. The city is packed with street spots, and the skatepark, aka Santo André skate plaza, built by Wasteland skateparks, is the cherry on top — 8 years old but still looking like it opened yesterday. Smooth lines, perfect flow connecting all segments, and always a good vibe.

But here’s the real story: this park didn’t just stay fresh by accident. Behind it all is Francisco Andrade. Some people go watch the sea at the end of the day. Francisco? He heads to the park to make sure everything’s okay.

He’s the guy keeping the concrete mint, fixing, upgrading, and making sure skaters and the city hall are on the same page. Not the usual “build it and forget it” type of story — but a living example of how respect, maintenance and community events keep a park alive.

Santo André isn’t just a skatepark. It’s proof that when you care, a park becomes more than concrete — it becomes community.
